Who builds DueTrail
DueTrail is built by Dmytro Yalanskyi, its founder. It is a small, independent product — not a division of anything, and not venture-funded.
The idea came from the part of getting paid that no tool covered. Accounting software sends the reminder perfectly well. What it cannot do is anything with the answer. Someone replies “I already paid”, or “I’ll pay Friday” and Friday passes, and from that moment the work is a person’s memory and a spreadsheet. DueTrail is the workflow after the reminder: a case per overdue invoice, a promise your customer can record themselves, a timeline of everything that was said, and a reminder that never goes out on an invoice that has already been paid.
It is deliberately cautious about sending. Every reminder waits for a person to approve it, and imports arrive paused, so connecting your ledger cannot surprise a client. You can explore the entire product free, with no card and no time limit — the only thing held back is live sending.
What it deliberately is not
- It is not a debt-collection agency. DueTrail never contacts your customers on your behalf — you approve every message that goes out.
- It does not lend against your invoices, factor them, or take a percentage of what it recovers.
- It does not write anything back to your accounting system. The connections read invoices and payments; your ledger stays exactly as you entered it.
- It does not charge per seat, per email, or per invoice sent.
