Payment link
A payment link is a URL on an invoice or reminder that takes the customer straight to a page where they can pay, by card or bank.
A payment link lets the customer pay in a few clicks without typing bank details. Clicking opens a hosted page showing the amount and the invoice, with card, bank transfer or local payment methods.
It shortens the distance between “I’ll pay this” and paying it. That works best for small and medium invoices, card-friendly customers and anyone paying outside their normal accounts-payable run.
Larger customers with a fixed AP process may still pay by transfer. Links don’t replace bank details on the invoice; they add a faster option. Card fees can be significant on large invoices, so decide which methods to offer by amount.
Example
A reminder for a €450 invoice includes a payment link. The client’s office manager clicks it from their phone and pays by card in under a minute.
